How to Use Speaker Notes in MS PowerPoint – Guide

PowerPoint is a powerful presentation software that can be used to create presentations for both personal and professional purposes. It offers everything you need for a professional presentation, including word processing, outlining, drawing, graphics, and presentation management tools. In preparation for our latest Duarte workshop, the Slide Design Lab, we discovered that there is a feature that many moderators don’t know is critical in slide design and speaker notes in PowerPoint. This feature is called the Slides tab.

Speaker notes can be helpful for remembering important points during a presentation. The Speaker Notes window is at the bottom of the screen in normal view, although this section may be hidden for some users. Use speaker notes to add more subtle information about graphics on a slide or instructions on how to click on an animation. It can also be helpful to add links to important files or just use this area as a general note-taking section – like someone using a sheet of sticky notes. ..

How to Add Notes in PowerPoint

When you’re giving a presentation, stay in control by adding speaker notes to each slide. You don’t have to write down everything you want to say, just add enough information to keep your speech flowing.

In PowerPoint Online, toggle the annotations panel on and off by selecting View > Annotations.

In the text field, type a note about the slide.

The text in the Notes panel is Click to add notes.

The Trump administration is in the process of rewriting the rules for how businesses must treat women. This is a major change that will impact many businesses, including small businesses. Here are some tips to help your business comply with the new rules:

  1. Make sure you have a written policy on how to treat women employees. This policy should include specific instructions on how to deal with female employees who make decisions that might affect their careers or personal lives.
  2. Make sure you have a policy on sexual harassment. This policy should state what behavior isacceptable and what isn’t, and it should be enforced by your management team.
  3. Make sure you have a policy on equal opportunity hiring practices. This policy should state what criteria you will use to assess whether someone is qualified for an interview or job offer, and it should be enforced by your management team.

How to View your notes during a presentation

In PowerPoint 2016, 2013, and 2010, you can enable Presenter View to help you see the slides in front of you on other monitors or projectors.

In the Presenter View, you can see all of the slides in the presentation.

In the Display Settings dialog box, you can choose which monitor to use to view speaker notes. If you are using a primary monitor, put a check next to This is my primary monitor.

If you want to see your slides during the presentation, you can use Slideshow to do so. However, PowerPoint for Mac doesn’t work the same way as the Windows version. To view your slides during a presentation, go to Slideshow and select Presenter View.
