How to use Mozilla’s Firefox Monitor – Guide
A data breach at a stock trading app has exposed the personal information of 7 million customers. The compromised data was mostly email addresses, but names, dates of birth, zip codes and “more extensive account details” were also released for a small group of users. Robinhood is just the latest victim of a data breach in a long list of companies that seem to grow by the week. This means that if your personal data hasn’t been stolen yet, it probably will one day. Or maybe you already have, and you just don’t know it yet.
If your personal information has been compromised, you usually don’t know it until T-Mobile, Facebook, Marriott, DoorDash, LinkedIn or another company you have trusted with your data notifies you of a data breach. At this point, your birthday, social security number, credit card number, health information, or other information has already been leaked or stolen. Any stolen personal information that data thieves take to your identity can allow hackers to do anything from making purchases and opening credit accounts in your name to applying for tax refunds and claiming medical benefits – all under your identity. Even worse, billions of these hacked credentials are available on the Dark Web where hackers can easily download them for free.
