  1. Open the Signal desktop app.
  2. Click on the three lines in the top left corner of the app, and then select “Timer.”
  3. In the “Timer settings” section, you’ll find a list of options that include “Default timer for messages that disappear from the Signal desktop app.” You can choose to have this timer run for a certain amount of time (in minutes), or set it to run continuously.
